Stop Guessing.
Start Setting Out.
A 1-day intensive bootcamp that bridges the gap between classroom theory and construction site reality. Learn what they don’t teach in college.
Upcoming dates and Navan venue details will be emailed to you after booking.
Perfect for junior engineers, tradesmen moving into setting out, and site managers who need a practical refresh.
College Taught You Math.
We Teach You The Job.
You’ve mastered the formulas. You can calculate coordinates in your sleep. But when you step onto a construction site for the first time, reality hits hard.
The drawings don’t match. The equipment feels foreign. The pressure is real. And suddenly, all that theory feels completely disconnected from what’s actually happening on site.
This bootcamp exists because there’s a gap — a massive one — between what you learn in the classroom and what you need to survive your first day on the job.
We’re here to close that gap. In one day.
One Day. Two Worlds.
From the controlled environment of the office to the chaos of the construction site.
The “Boring” Office Works & Data Processing
- CAD to Reality: Understanding what lines on a screen mean in mud.
- Error Detection: Spotting architectural vs structural clashes before digging.
- Instrument Setup: Total Station & GPS calibration and configuration.
- PM Check: The 15-minute routine that saves 5-hour mistakes.
The Site work & The Pressure
- Precision Setting Out: Nails, pins, and spray – marking for different trades.
- Resection vs. Occupy: Choosing the right setup method for the site conditions.
- As-Built & QA: Proving your work is right (and covering your back).
- Troubleshooting: What to do when the numbers don’t add up.
Is this for you?
- • Junior Engineers & Graduates: Bridge the gap between college math and site reality.
- • Tradesmen & Foremen: Upskill into setting out and take the next step in your career.
- • Site Managers: Refresh your knowledge to better oversee setting out operations.
Taught by Industry Veterans.
Learn from professionals who’ve spent decades in the field, not just the classroom.
Norbert, Senior Site Engineer and founder of Esos Elite Setting Out, has spent a decade leading groundworks and civil projects across Ireland and Europe. He specialises in turning messy CAD files and site chaos into simple, repeatable workflows that junior engineers and tradesmen can apply the very next day. His teaching is strictly practical: real drawings, real instruments, real site pressure—no fluff, just what you need to survive and lead on your first week on site.
